Fehmarn is a German Baltic Sea island and the third largest island in Germany after Rügen and Usedom. It belongs to the district of Ostholstein in Schleswig-Holstein. On 1 January 2003, the city of Fehmarn was formed by the merger of all the communities on the island and currently has a population of around 12,500.
The main town and administrative centre is Burg auf Fehmarn.

Fehmarn has been connected to the German mainland by the Fehmarnsund Bridge since 1963 and is part of the Vogelfluglinie, which is also used for international long-distance rail traffic. Puttgarden station is served by Intercity Express trains and EuroCity trains (Hamburg-Copenhagen) as well as regional express trains of DB Regio Schleswig-Holstein (Puttgarden-Lübeck).
The distances from Lübeck or Kiel are approx. 90 km, from Hamburg approx. 150 km. The island is therefore also easily accessible by car.
Fehmarn is crossed by several cycle routes, e.g. the Baltic Sea Cycle Route, which runs around the Baltic Sea as part of the European EuroVelo route network.
The airfield Fehmarn-Neujellingsdorf is well usable for small airplanes.
A redesign and future use for living or for renting to holiday guests is possible with this object. There are many apartments in the surrounding area that can be rented all year round or seasonally.
In addition to the purchase price, you as the purchaser pay all costs associated with the sale, such as notary and court costs as well as the land transfer tax, which is currently 6.5% for real estate purchases in Schleswig-Holstein.
